[HANASHIR:9267] celebrating 20 years

Dear Chevre,
Last night, my congregation had a Saturday night gathering, including
havdalah of course, to mark my 20th anniversary of my rabbinic ordination. I
took the opportunity to do some music before Havdalah, most of it in a
"sing-along" mode, to add the celebration and my own enjoyment of the event.
We had about 50 people packed into the living room at the home of our Temple
president, with a few folks peering in from the next room.
The songs I chose to sing (and to lead with another congregant on
several of the selections) were:
Kosher (Jeff Klepper) - just for fun!
It's You (Debbie Friedman)
Listen (Doug Cotler)
Talmud Torah (Solomon/Sussman - from the group Safam)
Yad B'Yad (Craig Taubman)
I Am All Around (Julie Silver)
and a two songs I have composed in the last couple of years.

People were really singing along - not quite with the harmonies of the Hava
Nashira gathering, but definitely with the same spirit!

Just thought I would share!
L'shalom,
Rabbi Larry Karol
Temple Beth Sholom
