[HANASHIR:8412] Re: torn about Hava Nashira this year

Adrian:
As a soloist, music educator, conductor and responder (either
to individuals or to the list as a whole), I have found this
discussion group to be very informative.
I think it would be a shame if we who are involved in Jewish
music should start having to think of ourselves as being in
"cubby-holes" based on our levels of expertise, interest, and
goals/objectives.
Based on the requests which often emanate from people who are
specifically "songleaders" and need to find out something which
(sometimes) only professionals might know, it would do those
individuals (the songleaders) a disservice not to be able to find
solutions or suggestions simply because they would only be addressing
people doing the same thing.
In another instance someone wanted to find a way to convert
sound to the computer screen. I was able to offer some options. A
further instance related to someone who was looking for a better
instrument for their congregational services. It was possible to
help that person.
We each have our strong and weak points. Remember the story
of the father and his sons and how he was able to show them that
working together was better than doing something totally on one's
own, by relating the story of the five sticks.
I hope all of us can continue to share and learn.
