[HANASHIR:5936] Re: Funerals

I'm glad Rabbi Dick replied as he did. I have had to do dual roles as well,
burying my mother-in-law, my dear friend, my friend's child, among others, where
I have also been grieving. I did my crying before the service, or after the
service, took a long walk or drive before or after, leaned on whatever support
system I had, either before or after the service, but, during the time when I
needed to be "the cantor," I have been able to pull myself together so that I
could be present for my congregants, my friends, my relatives as the synagogue
professional I needed to be.
