It is a custom at many weddings for the parents to circle the groom with the 
bride. Who goes with who is another question. At many weddings the two moms 
may escort the bride to the chupah and the two dads the groom. Sometimes the 
bride and groom may be escorted by their own parents. There is also a custom 
that the escorts carry lit candles.
