[HANASHIR:5146] Musical events in KC

In the "shameless promotion" category:
Kansas City is alive and well in the Jewish culture and music category.
Please make note of the following events, and plan to drop in, if you're in
the neighborhood!

Saturday evening, Feb. 12

Ellen and Peter Allard will be at Congregation Beth Shalom at 6:45 p.m. to
present a "Havdalah Pajama Concert" for Beth Shalom Nursery School kids (and
their families) -- (and anyone else who wants to come for a fun evening!)
Ellen and Peter present a high-energy, kid-friendly program that has everyone
jumping for joy.

Sunday, Feb. 13

Cantor Ellen Dreskin will be in Kansas City for two exciting events:

1. The Midwest Educators Conference, from 9 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at the Jewish
Community Center, at which she will be leading a workshop, as will a number
of other noted Jewish educators from around the country.

2. "Wine, (Jewish) Women and Song," from 2-4 p.m., also at the JCC. The
program is presented by the Yad b'Yad educational series of Women's Division
of the Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City. The program will include a
"drash" by Rabbi Amy Wallk Katz on wine in Jewish life and ritual, and a
musical "celebration" led by Cantor Dreskin. (Admission is $5 -- and includes
a wine and cheese reception).
