[HANASHIR:4788] Re: GUITAR ADVICE

Although it is easier to fret a nylon string guitar I believe a kid should
start out on a steel string. A steel string guitar is going to also provide a
skinnier neck which I think is a plus for little hands. I once read something
interesting in regad to children starting out on the guitar and that was to
let them start with a guitar tuned in an open G tuning. Even though they
won't start learning first position chords this way they will be able to make
beautiful music with litttle effort and pick out melodies on single strings.
The skills are easy, useful and the success is encourageing. Good luck.
