Wanted to let some folks know I'll be sleeping at the BAM Cafe this weekend.
First with Frank London's Klezmer Brass All-stars Fri, Apr 2 at 9pm, Frank
London turns his omnivorous musical ear to Carnival from the perspective of
both sides of Eastern Parkway. The result is a throbbing calypso Hasidic parade
band. I'll be humping out some tuba lines. No samples allowed.

Then I'll be there again on Saturday night with The So Called Seder Sat, Apr
3 at 9:30pm
Josh Dolgin, aka SoCalled, gives his take on classic Passover Seder melodies
with fresh, personal interpretations. I'll be humping out electric tuba and
some hip-hop lines. Samples definitely allowed.

Also, maybe some of youse missed the Klezmer Brass All-Stars on WNYC this
past monday. You can check it out here in the WNYC archive. You can fast
forward through the show to get to our segment. One of the tunes came out like
Be-Bop Klezmer.

  Cheers,
  Ron
