Jews and Blackface

Concerning Jews and blackface, there is a book by Michael Rogin that might be 
pertinent:

Although I find the subject fascinating, I haven't gotten around to reading it 
yet, but here's some additional info from an interview with Michael Rogin:

I had the pleasure of briefly meeting Mr. Rogin when he accompanied his 
long-time companion Ann Banfield to a lit.crit. conference here in Stockholm. 
He seemed such a lively and inspiring person and teacher, and I was saddened to 
learn that not shortly thereafter he died unexpectedly from a virulent form of 
hepatitis.
