I'm pasting what's on the Museum of Jewish Heritage's website (the web
address is at the end).
Kol Isha (the group, not the discussions here) includes Adrienne Cooper,
Basya Schechter, Pearl Gluck, Tine Kinderman, Sarah Gordon, Jenny Romaine,
Michelle Miller, Michal Cohen and others. Shekhina will feature (I believe)
Frank London, Greg Wall, Aaron Alexander, Marc Ribot, Rob Schwimmer and Brad
Jones. Sure to be fun. Hope to see everyone there.

HASIDIC MUSIC FROM THE EDGE: A SHABBAT SHIRA CELEBRATION
Yossi Piamenta & The Piamenta Band
Frank London's Shekhina featuring Kol Isha
Shabbat Shira, the Torah portion that recounts the Israelites crossing the
Red Sea and the musical celebration that ensued, is the inspiration for a
special doube-bill of Hasidic music by some of the genre's most innovative
artists.
Affectionately referred to as the "Hasidic Hendrix" and the "Sephardic
Santana", Yossi Piamenta is one of the most celebrated artists in Hasidic
music. For this concert, The Piamenta Band will perform favorites and new
music from their most recent album, Sason V'Simcha: A Piamenta Wedding.
Musical polymath Frank London (Klezmatics) brings together two groups for
this special performance. Shekhina (Aaron Alexander and Greg Wall, among
others) is a group of improvising musicians who are equally at home playing
at a Hasidic wedding or a downtown jazz club. Kol Isha (Adrienne Cooper and
Tine Kinderman, among others) are a collective of women who sing traditional
mystical Hasidic music. Both groups are featured on London's release
Scientists at Work and on the soundtrack to the film Divan.
$15 adults, $12 members/seniors, $10 students, with advance reservations
($18, $15, $12 at the door)
