a death in Toronto

At the Balkan , Israeli et al. folk dance party New Year's Eve in
Toronto, we wondered why Bill Baird, Judy Silver, and their teenaged
daughter Shayna weren't there; running the dance programme, leading
dances, and being their usual warm, friendly selves. No one was remotely
prepared to hear during the evening that Bill had had a heart attack
followed by a massive stroke. He passed away on New Year's Day. For
anyone who lives in Toronto, the funeral is tomorow, Sunday, at 11:30
a.m.  at Benjamin's, on Steeles a block west of DUfferin. The family has
requested not to be contacted directly for now. Judith
