Culture and Language, Joyce Tamara, who attended Columbia's Yiddish program,
and klezmer violinist Claire Bergen, who attended the Krakow Jewish
Festival. The discussion will be in Yiddish and English.

The Nutcracker, recast for Hanukkah. The performance emphasizes the Eastern
European elements of the score, incorporating klezmer versions of Mahler,
Brahms and Enesco with wit, intelligence, and playful irreverence.
