Klezmerquerque in New Mexico this weekend

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to send you a reminder about "Klezmerquerque" in Albuquerque, New 
Mexico this weekend. The event features classes and parties with klezmer dance 
teacher, choreographer and collector, Erik Bendix and stellar musicians Stuart 
Brotman, Joshua Horowitz and Cookie Segelstein.

Friday, Feb. 8th, 6:30 pm - Freylekhe (dancing) Shabbes, concert and dance 
party. Walk-through dance instruction.  Dances: Roumanian hora, honga, khosidl, 
freylekhs, shiffers tanz, kolomeike, terkishe, sirba and possibly: 
Alexandrovska, karapyet, korobushka and couple's bulgar. ($10/$8 suggested 
donation/under 12 free).

Saturday, March 1st classes: 
8:30am-10:30am - Dance class
10:30am-12:30pm - music class
1:30pm-3:30pm - choice of dance or music class

Pre-registration by Friday night is required for discounts, work scholarships 
are also available for set-up and cleanup Fri. and Sat. nites).

Saturday, March 1st, 7:30pm til? - Dance party to live music by ABQ's The 
Rebbe's Orkestra and Josh, Cookie and Stu. Also Class/student performances. 
Walk-through dance instruction and The Russian Sher with Erik. ($10/$8/ special 
$5 for class participants/under 12 free).

Sunday, March 2nd, 1:30-3:00pm ($25/$20) - Advanced classes in dance and music. 
Choose: Erik (dance), Cookie (strings and/or other melody instr.), Josh 
(keyboards/hammered dulcimers), Stu (bass/rhythm) or ABQ's own klez-clarinetist 
Stewart Mennin (lead reeds/brass).
 
Dance classes on Saturday will cover variations and review of Friday's dances. 
Also Saturday and/or Sunday class will cover The Russian Sher and "Das 
tsighele" ("Cintecul Iedului din Tighele") a Romanian-Yiddish dance.
