Hi, my name is Henri Oppenheim, and this is my first message to the list.
I play accordion and write arrangements for a new klezmer band based in
Montreal, Canada : "Kleztory".
I have so many question that I will probably ask them one by one.
The first one is about Yiddish. Unfortunately, I don't speek Yiddish,
but I would like to take lessons, here in Montreal. I have no doubt that
some members of the list live here and could give me advice on the issue.
The second, and last for today, is about klezmer arranging. I ordered
Pete Sokolow's book on Klezmer arranging, but it appeared to be very
basic, and I am looking for something more advanced. Is there any
source, internet or book (of course CDs are the best source...) about
klezmer arranging ?
I keep my other questions (about scales for example) for a coming message...
Thanks for any suggestion.
