Winniipeg sher

Someone I dance with recently told me that in Winnipeg, it was the norm,
even just 30 years ago, to dance a sher at every wedding and bar mitzvah.
Her recollections are somewhat vague.  Just wondering if there are any
Winnipeggers on the list, and if any of you recall doing this dance.  If so,
I'm curious to know if it is similar to/different than the versions that
were done elsewhere.
