Zalmen Mlotek and New Yiddish Chorale concert

On Saturday Evening, December 7 at 7:30pm,  New York City's Temple Shaaray
Tefila proudly presents "A Yiddishe Chanuke" featuring world-renowned Zalmen
Mlotek and his celebrated New Yiddish Chorale.  

The concert, conducted by Mr. Mlotek, will celebrate the festive season with
wonderful arrangements of traditional Yiddish Chanukah music.  A collation
will follow the program.  The entire evening is free and open to the general
public.

Temple Shaaray Tefila is located at 250 East 79th Street at the SW corner of
2nd Avenue.

ZALMEN MLOTEK, Executive Director of the Folksbiene Yiddish Theatre, is one of
the world's foremost authorities on Yiddish folk and theater music.  His work
"Those Were the Days" received two Tony nominations and a Drama Desk award. 
His theatre piece "The Golden Land" was an Off-Broadway hit that toured
nationally.  He has concertized extensively around the world
and has been featured in numerous recordings.

THE NEW YIDDISH CHORALE was founded by Mr. Mlotek in 1995 to perform and
record musically rich arrangements of traditional Yiddish songs, both of the
past and new compositions.  The Chorale has performed widely and was featured
on Mandy Patinkin's "Mamaloshen."  In additon they have recorded three
well-received CD's including two CD's for YIVO.
