Shalom chevre,
Just a quick note to share regarding another event happening this weekend
in the Chicago area:
ANNOUNCING THE "MYSTICAL THIRD MEAL OF SHABBOS"
On the first Saturday of each month, we celebrate the Mystical Third Meal
at the home of Rachmiel, Tamar, Zoharia Lev and Zeevielle Lev Drizin. If
you've never attended this event, it provides an opportunity to participate
in a diverse array of Jewish-themed activities in a Renewal context. Some
of this "Jewish multimedia smorgasboard" includes meditation, Kabbalistic
yoga, in-depth and experiential Torah study, pot luck veggie/kosher dinner,
Havdalah, music, drumming, and storytelling.
No experience necessary! Come as you are!
DATE, TIME, PLACE
The evening starts at 4.00 p.m. and goes well into the night. For more
info, contact the Drizins at 708.386.7099 (be sure to call
before Shabbos because they don't answer the phone during). The address is
1051 N. Humphrey in Oak Park, Illinois.
BRING THE KIDS
Children are more than welcome! This event is *definitely* "family-friendly."
BRING A VEGGIE/KOSHER DISH
To help out with the meal, everyone who attends is requested to bring a
vegetarian/kosher dish of some sort.
CONTACT
If you have questions, contact Tamar at tamarl (at) elmhurst(dot)edu or Rahmiel
at
zoharialev (at) aol(dot)com or call 708.386.7099.
ABOUT THE MYSTICAL THIRD MEAL
Remember, Shabbos is 25 hours long starting on Friday night and stretching
into Saturday night. On Friday night, we're in a state of receiving
holiness from Hashem. During the day on Saturday, we do things that help
raise ourselves to a higher spiritual level. The third meal that takes
place Saturday evening is a time that combines both. At the time of the
Mystical third meal, you can achieve many great spiritual things. Through
song, dance, teaching, and learning, you can be what you wish to be, be who
you truly are, and be what you want to be. Doing this with friends and
family just makes it that much more precious and sweet!
