I don't know when it was written but Uvau Haovdim was first released on a single a long time ago and then the songt appeared on "Shlomo Carlebach Live in Tel Aviv". The single is now part of the remastered " RSC Uvnei Yerushalayim" recording and Live in Tel Aviv (which has been in my collection for years) was recorded in the mid to late 70's so that song goes back a ways.
The Shlomo Carlebach, "My Humble Abode" webpage has numerous contacts including Ben Zion Solomon, who's really up on this stuff. Also, Ben Zion, a friend of mine since '78,
has his own renditions of Shlomo's nigunim out. He has a few songs on his "'Give me Harmony" recording that weren't recorded elsewhere. I'd say he's a pretty definitive authority on all this. You can get his email also from the Moshav's webpage.
