"El Danzon de Moises" @ Tonic tomorrow, 5/9

This show tomorrow looks interesting - has anyone heard more about this
project?

--Thu, May 09--
* Roberto Rodriguez featuring David Krakauer at 8pm, $12
With Brad Jones (bass), David Krakauer (clarinet), Meg Okura (violin), Ted
Reichman (accordion / piano / pump organ), Roberto Rodriguez (drums), Marcus
Rojas (tuba) & Mary Wooten (cello). Celebrating the Tzadik release El Danzon de
Moises. The dynamic Latin percussionist for Joe Jackson, Marc Ribot’s Postizos
and a variety of other groups excavates the fascinating world of Cuba’s little-
known Jewish community. Roberto’s firsthand experience with both Cuban and
Jewish traditions (performing at Havana Synagogues in the 1970s, and exposure
to the Radical Jewish Culture Revolution in New York’s downtown community of
the 1990s,) have resulted in a seamless new music.
