I'm glad Lorele and others posted in re "pomerantsn."

I wrote the post from uncertain memory; but what I *did* remember is that 
the translations i have of greene kuzine go back and forth being "red 
oranges" and "pomegranates" for this word.

I've *asked* Yiddish speakers at lectures how *they* would translate it--and 
they give me both answers, too!

But I know this is the other translation I've been given--or that's been 
offered in written translations--and I'm going to defer to it.
