Middle-Eastern Music Concert in Mamaroneck, NY



There will be a concert featuring the music of the
Scott Wilson Ensemble at the Westchester Jewish Center
on Sunday March, 17th from 1-4PM.  This will be an
outstanding performance featuring music from all over
the Middle East.  Instruments include the Oud,
Clarinet, Canoun, Doumbek, Bass Doumbek and Bass
Guitar.  

There will be Israeli dancing led by world renowned
coreographer Shmulik Gov-Ari.  An Israeli luncheon
will be prepared including felafel and slatim. 
Admission is only $10 for adults and $5 for children
12 - 18.  Under 12 is free so bring the kids.

Here is a brief background of Scott Wilson:

Scott Wilson is one of the foremost performers of
Middle-Eastern Music in the United States.  Having
studied with the famous Oudist, Charles ?Chick?
Ganimiam, he blends a mixture of Turkish, Greek,
Armenian, Arabic and Israeli music to create an
atmosphere that will turn the WJC gym into a lively
Mid-East café.
  
Scott?s numerous performances include Lincoln Center ?
Danrosche Park, the Theatre for Living Arts in
Philadelphia, the Knitting Factory in NY City and the
Italian Cruise Lines ? Leonardo DaVinci.  He can be
seen every Sunday evening at Café LeFigaro in
Greenwich Village.

Scott?s ensemble includes an extremely talented group
of world-class musicians.  Instruments include the
Oud, Clarinet, Kanoun, Doumbek and Bass. 

Bet Torah Caterers will be providing an Israeli Lunch
complete with Felafel and Israeli Salads. 

The afternoon will culminate with Israeli dancing led
by Schmulik Gov-Ari accompanied by the live music of
the ensemble.  Mr. Gov-Ari is one of the most famous
Israeli Dance choreographers and his ability to lead
and teach is quite unique.
