"Rock & Roll" in this case, doesn't necessarily refer
to the lyrics (ie. sex & drugs, etc) but perhaps more
on the music (rhythm, melody, etc). I don't know for
sure as I have not read the article.
It could be wrong and knee-jerk to associate a musical
style with a lifestyle. One doesn't necessarily have
to do drugs and have lots of sex to play Rock & Roll
(but it does help!)
