R: from yesterday's Yediot Ahronot

I have just read a book by Enrico Macias, "Mon Algérie" in which he
describes his youth and when he played with the Arab-Andalusian orchestra
of Cheikh Raymond Leyris and how the latter's assassination during the
Algerian war of Independence could be interpreted as an attempt to destroy
the bridge he (as a Jew) had formed with Muslim culture.
