Do you mind if I kvell a little? Yesterday I heard from the editor of
the Cleveland Jewish News. Not only does she like my article I wrote
for them about "Yiddish" dance, she wants pictures and a side bar about
how to do a couple of them. It sounds as if it may turn out to be a
two-page spread. I'm really excited about this (of course personally)
for the exposure it will give to this art form we are trying to preserve
and promulgate, strengthening the hold yidishkayt has here.
In my opening, I wrote about the chaotic dancing we've talked about and
the editor asked me, "You mean, that's not how it's supposed to be?
I've been doing it wrong?" The funny thing is, I think she was serious!
I want to thank those who participated in the discussion on dancing we
had recently. It helped firm up my ideas on what to say in the article,
and certainly made it more interesting.
Keep dancing and zol zayn yidish!
