"Our Way- The Barry Sisters Sing Bei Mir Bist Du Sheyn"
Finally available on CD. The last recording by the Barry Sisters in the 70's.
The original LP contained 10 songs including a New and even more dynamic
version of their 1937 hit, "Bei Mir Bist Du Sheyn" which was later covered by
the Andrew Sisters.
Included are such songs as "Cabaret", "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head"
(Drop'ns Frun Regen Oyf Mein Kop!!!) "To Life" (From Fiddler On The Roof),
and they're in Yiddish.
The enclosed booklet includes a "history"of the Barry Sisters with rare
photos.
---------------------------
"Something familiar about these song, no? Yes, here they are for the first
time on compact disc. Some of the most popular English songs from the
Broadway stage and the popular music charts as only the Barry Sisters can
perform them, and, they're in YIDDISH! Doesn't "S'ken Nit Meighlech Zay"
sound so much more romantic than "It's Impossible"? Who knows how big a hit
Sinatra could have had if he had recorded "Mein Vaig" rather than "My Way".
You never had "Tea for Two" in a Jewish home, but you most certainly had "Tay
Far Tzvay". These 13 selections we all know so well in English sound so much
better in Yiddish, except of course, "Exodus," which is sung in HEBREW! The
most fun you've had since Coney Island!"
We are offereing this Cd through the end of the year for $15.98 including
shipping within the US.
We accept Visa & Mastercard.
