My Greenhorn Cousin
Have you heard the tale of my "kuzine,"
She was new, just off the boat, a "grine,"
Cheeks as bright as oranges, a romancer--
Feet so light and lovely, like a dancer.
But if you see her now, you wouldn't know her--
Working in the sweatshops really showed her
Just how hard it is to be a "grine"--
How her life has changed, oy my kuzine!
I don't remember if I wrote these or got them somewhere else--they were just
on file. Well, two verses down...
