Re: Fritz Kreisler's grave stone



I guess memory is the first to go. I don't
usually rely on memory instead of checking
facts. As soon as I sent the message below,
I realized the citation would be of interest
and regretted sending the email without it.

I went to retrieve the article referenced
below and found that its leading paragraph
mentioned Kreisler, as did several additional
paragraphs including one that noted his plain gravestone with the cross. 

This recent article by Jeremy Eichler is dated
August 31, 2001. Of Jewish (not just musical) 
relevance, the article cites a Yehuda Amichai
poem. And the musical notation on Miles Davis'
stone consists of two measures from his composition 
"Solar."
