Re: defining the klez

i just want to offer the truism that many abiding labels are coined by
others, often opponents or competors of groups that have an identity. how we
think of ourselves is usually less extreme than the ways other see us. many
innovative musicians thought of themselves as traditionalists but others
were more extreme in their analysis.
