Vancouver's exciting Jewish-fusion group, Olam, will be playing the
Vancouver Jazz Festival on Saturday, June 23, 9:00-11:30 pm, at
Performance Works (1218 Cartwright Street, Granville Island).
This will be Olam's biggest show of the summer in Vancouver. If
you've already danced to the sound of Olam's music in weddings, this
is your chance to experience the band's jazzy-improvisational side in
a theatre setting.
The show will feature a mix of new compositions and arrangements
("Jerusalem of Gold", "Afro-Klez Waltz", "For Leah") and old
favourites ("Papirosn", "I Love Foreign Men").
Olam's past shows at the Jazz Festival have all sold out. If you
plan to buy tickets at the door, come early to avoid disappointment
and also to get the best seats. Tickets are $10. They are available
at Ticketmaster and from the Jazz Hotline, (604) 872-5200.
