klezkamp 2000

klezkamp was, in a word, amazing. incredible. unbelievable. all right so that
was three words. maybe "well-timed" is another good word because right now the
snow is falling in new york something ridiculous, and yesterday there was
nothing at all. anyway everyone here should go next year.

i learned so much. bought seven cds. so far they're all wonderful. it'll take a
while to figure out frank london's "invocations" and "the debt" (film music
comp.) and to a degree hassidic new wave's "psycho-semitic" but i already love
the four other cds i got -- pete sokolow (and henry sapoznik!) with the
"original klezmer jazz band" (bargain of the year: over two hours of klezmer
swing for $20!), brandwein, and tarras. oyeah one more also i got kevin (crazy
kevin kazooie, from the storytelling hour on the last night) macdonnels cd and
it's fun.

met a few list people there too, that was cool. talked comics with henry
sapoznik. the performers were awesome too, especially fourth night with
adrienne cooper (always the best, of course), judith & tamar cohen (their great
sephardic folk music cleaned out my ears... and tamar was incredible. and she's
fifteen! fifteen, and she can drum 7/8 and sing at the same time! :-), & other
people I don't know.

i will do a big ole stream-of-consciousness write-up. today, hopefully. will
send it to everyone i know (and post it online) so i don't have to write it
over and over again. also i plan on making a web site with jewmusic album
reviews and full-length music samples if i can get permission.

but, right now, i need to write a report for economics...

there is no justice in the world today :)
