For those who asked how to get to Metropolitan Klezmer's show this Sunday, 
December 10 at 7pm (doors open at 6:30), here are the details...

DIRECTIONS TO THE UPTOWN COFFEEHOUSE, sponsored by and located in the Ethical 
Culture building at 4450 Fieldston Road in Riverdale (the Bronx), NY  
718/548-4445:
This very warm and friendly room seats about 120 arranged theater style.  
Homemade desserts, fruit, coffee, tea and juice are available at reasonable 
prices.  Bronx Cultural Cards are honored.  Metropolitan Klezmer's full 
8-piece band will play. Admission is $15.

Driving directions (Public transportation options listed below):

from SOUTH:  Take the West Side Highway northbound where it becomes the Henry 
Hudson Pkwy.  Exit at West 246th St and proceed a short distance to a traffic 
light and proceed right onto 246th Street.  Proceed 2 blocks to a stop sign 
and make a right onto Fieldston Road.  Continue one very long block to a stop 
sign and the Ethical Culture Society building will be on your left amongst 
the trees.

from NORTH:  Take Saw Mill Parkway southbound and it becomes the Henry Hudson 
Pkwy.  Exit at West 246th St and proceed a short distance to a traffic light 
and turn left onto 246th st.  proceed 2 blocks to a stop sign and make a 
right onto Fieldston Road.  Continue one very long block to a stop sign and 
the Ethical Culture Society building will be on your left amongst the trees.  

There is limited parking on Fieldston Road in front of the building, but 
there is plenty of free parking across the street in the various parking lots 
of the Fieldston School.  
DO NOT park illegally on the street.  They tow!!

Public Transportation

Take the IRT #1 or #9 subway to 231st Street stop.  Take the #7 bus towards 
Riverdale (located on the Northwest corner), get off at 239th st and continue 
walking down the hill until you get to Fieldston Road.  Cross the street over 
to the Ethical Culture building.  Alternately, you can take the IRT #1 or #9 
to 242nd St (end of the line).  Walk up a very long hill on Manhattan College 
Parkway about six blocks to the Uptown.  Or take a taxi ride up the hill.
