Khevrisa is the premier ensemble of the early style of klezmer music
that
flourished in Eastern Europe from the 17th to the early 20th century. A
tradtional ensemble instrumentation of violin and tsimbl (small
cimbalom),
Steven Greenman and Walter Zev Feldman have enthralled audiences in
Europe
and North America with their renditions of music that is by turns
soulful,
evocative and fiery. This concert marks the release of their CD on
Smithsonian Folkways.
