Tango Meydl Orchestra debut performance



Jenny Levison and the Tango Meydl Orchestra  will perform music from the new
(work in progress) musical theater production, Shtil, Mayn Corazon-- a
Yiddish Tango Cabaret.

Sunday November 26, 2000 at Tonic, 107 Norfolk Street (between Delancey and
Rivington Streets), NYC.  Sets will be at 1:30 and 3:00.

The Tango Meydl Orchestra's  appearance at Tonic is part of a series of
Sunday afternoon klezmer and Yiddish music concerts curated by David
Krakauer.

The Tango Meydl Orchestra features:

A full theatrical run of Shtil, Mayn Corazon -- a Yiddish Tango Cabaret will
debut in Portland, Oregon on December 13th.  For more details, please see

In this dramatic musical and dance presentation, Jenny Levison sings the
little-known repertoire of Yiddish tango, and tells an evocative story of
Jewish life and immigration in Eastern Europe, Argentina, and the U.S.
In Yiddish and English. Featuring a live Yiddish tango orchestra, cabaret
seating, and ample room on the dance floor for tango aficionados.
