Jewish music concert at WTC, June 26



Fellow Jewish music list members and other musical fans & colleagues: 
If you're able to be in downtown Manhattan during the day, I'm sure this 
program will be worthwhile.  The Chorus's conductor, Binyumen Schechter, is a 
wonderful musician with a terrific manner of explaining the songs to 
audiences at all levels of expertise.

The Jewish People’s Philharmonic Chorus

World Trade Center Plaza, 
New York, NY, USA
Monday, June 26, 2000 at 12 Noon, 
as part of the Festival of Creative Communities – On Stage at the Twin 
Towers, sponsored by the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council.

Admission:  free
Venue:  outdoors
Set length:  30-35 minutes
Who is invited:  all

The Jewish People’s Philharmonic Chorus, one of the nation's oldest 
intergenerational Jewish choruses (founded in 1923), is a rejuvenated 
45-voice, 4-part chorus dedicated to preserving the legacy of old and new Yidd
ish songs, singing about workers, lovers, mothers, pioneers, immigrants and 
survivors -- all in Yiddish, with translations provided.  They are concluding 
a successful season of a dozen concerts.

So, if you are in New York June 26, do come!
