Jewish music and the law

In my regrettably real life, I am a lawyer who writes often on legal
history, particularly legal oddities, curiosities, and marginalia, when I'm
not simply ranting.  From this obtuse angle, I found Robert's e-mail on the
musicians' guilds very interesting.  Some of the same material Henry covers
in his book.  I would appreciate any other information on Jewish musicians
and the law, historically and otherwise, which anyone is willing to share.
