csardas/shadach solved

I received the following note from Dick Crum. So the csardas/shadach
mystery is solved.
Helen:

"shadach" could easily be a garbled spelling of "csardas". A simple form of
it (two-figured"ballroom csardas") spread like wildfire throughout Hungary
and the Austro-Hungarian Empire in the late 1800s, including Galicia and
other places where there were large Jewish populations. It would be
surprising if Jews from those areas DIDN'T dance it along with other social
dances of the day.
