Dear Dan,
I?m very sorry that you?re leaving the list!
I think Margot wrote you a very good letter, and what she?s been writing
expresses my feelings, too.
I really didn?t mean to offend you - on the contrary! Signing my first mail
with "seriously offended", adding an internet-style twinkling/smiling face
;-), was meant to make clear that I?m not offended at all! (seemingly more
clarinetists are bad comedians... we should have taken lessons from Mickey
Katz...) And it was indeed meant as a statement that we shouldn?t nag on
every comma in each other?s postings, since I felt myself that feeling
injured happens far too easily on this list.
I seized on your remark about clarinet/singing style, because I think it?s
really worth discussing, in a friendly and honest way, no need to say... And
the question about folk styles requiring UNtraining for classical musicians
is indeed an item I?m very interested in.
I would love to discuss this with you, be it on the list, be it private.
Once again, I did not mean to offend you.
I hope you can accept my apoligies...
All the best
Christian
(I?ll send a copy of this letter to the list)
