Somewhat in keeping with the current 'Turkish" thread and earlier discussions
on Jewish Tangos. I just received a very interesting Turkish Tango recording
by Ibrahim Ozgur who was born in 1910 and started recording Tango in 1938.
He died at the age of 49.

>From the liner notes: "In The late 20's and 30's Tango was very popular in
Turkey. For many composers and singers it was the first contact they had
with "western" music. With the help of Armenian and Jewish Musicians Tango
established itself very quickly......The first Tango were performed by female
soloists."

By the way, you won't find this title on our web site, it's just one of those
"non-Jewish special interest' titles we carry in the store.
