Re: Yiddish musical theater books

Though by no means complete, my new book "Klezmer!" goes into the history of 
Yiddish musical theater in America, discussing the interaction between the 
former meshoyrerim (apprentice cantors) who turned to composing for the 
theater and the klezmorim who alternated between parties and orchestra pit.
It also elaborates on the nature of early commercial recording of Jewish 
music and even my work on the Spottswood discography.
