A Yiddish Proverb?

“A clever person gets out of a situation that a wise person would never get 
into.” 

Does anyone know if this is a Yiddish proverb?  I would like to use and 
attribute it.
Please forgive me--I know it's not related to music--I promise I won't do it 
again!  (Anyway, I WAS humming while I typed...)
