Yiddish,etc./from Trudi the G

Hi Simon:
Trudi Goodman here. I hated the earlier sarcasm, because Lori is a GREAT
PERSON, but I understood it. Thank you for your current comments, however. I
found them to be very compassionate. As one who was recently "flamed" on
this site for daring to say that I speak Deitmarish and that people in my
family spoke it as well...thank you muchly.
Lori is a truly amazing person, and so I understand her desire to "do
things" correctly. The truth of the matter is that Yiddish is a polyglot
language and it would be nice, nettish, if YIVO would not be the only source
that people think that they can go to for information. They do a great job,
I love these guys, but I'm getting a bit "testy"/noodgie about the
professionalism of some Yiddishists and their desires to "clean up" and
sanitize Yiddish, Yinglish and Yiddish cultures in general. As Simone
Signoret once said...Nostaglia isn't what it used to be.
Love and Knishes, Trudi the G
P.S. I'm with Lori on this one...as a teacher I truly believe that THERE'S
ALWAYS ROOM FOR EDUCATING PEOPLE. And hey...we all love things Jewish on
this list or we all wouldn't be hanging out on it!!!!!!!
