Re: http://www.alapage.com/

Actually, I hadn't tried that search. Thanks. By the way, since this site
lists older stuff too, some of these are not CDs. Here's what I know:

Of Judeo-Berber descent, now living in the south of France. A voice to die
for.

LP, long out of print. Group member Aron Saltiel is planning a Ladino
songbook with frequent list contributor Josh Horowitz...

Certainly still available (contrary to what the site says) on the
Orata/Lyre label out of Greece.

> 4 - Romances séfarades de LAMANDIER, ESTHER

Western art song versions with self-accompaniment. Pleasant. Ask Judith
Cohen how she got to meet this Grande Dame...

Don't have this one, but have others ?from the same extended family? North
African styling is my guess.

Early music treatment. Also another disc just under the artist name Florata
after the group re-organized.

>Méditerranée) de SARBAND ,ENSEMBLE VOCAL ET INSTRUMENTAL

This is a very interesting group; great musicianship; EM meets Ottoman
Classical Music. Really know how to put a song across. Their lead singer is
from Lebanon; so-so pronunciation (so say my spies; I'd never be able to
tell!!) and typical ME vocal production but again, compelling in person.

See above.

> 9 - Romances séfarades de ACCENTUS ,ENSEMBLE, , WIMMER,
>THOMAS

Early music versions.

> 10 - Romances sépharades / vol.3 de ATLAN, FRANCOISE

Same comments as above.

> 11 - Chants juifs séfarades en Ladino de ISRAEL

Hmm. This is Sandra Bessis' label, and she had a release that year, so I am
wondering if that's it?

Bessis, Sanda, et al
Paseando?Chants judéo-espagnols
Disques DOM
DOM 1440

I will have to check it out.

> 12 - Chants sacrés sépharades de CHEKROUN, ALAIN

Not known to me. Anyone on the list have it? Ness does principally N.
African versions of Sephardic music.

> 13 - Sefarad (Demetrio ballesteros) de MURO, MARIA

Folky style versions on the Tecnosaga label, which Simon is now carrying, yes?

> 14 - La bazanca (Canciones sefarades) de ESPAGNE

Ditto.

> 15 - De sefarad a salónica (Grupo de musica antiqua y
>populaz) de SIMANE

Ditto

Hope this helps!
