Yonatan Gabai Workshop in NYC (fwd)



People on this list who will be in NYC this weekend have a unique
opportunity to participate in a workshop to learn folk dances done to 
well-known (and some not so well-known) Israeli and Jewish songs from a
master teacher and choreographer. Details are included below.

YONATAN GABAI PRESENTS HIS FIRST WORKSHOP IN NEW YORK

SUNDAY MARCH 14 @ 7pm -- Classic Israeli folk dance workshop with noted
choreographer YONATAN GABAI, creator of many popular Israeli folkdances
such as Od Yishama, Sham Haray Golan, Simchu Na (Hachasida), Sisu Et
Yerushalayim, Sulam Yaakov, Tzaddik Ktamar, Vshuv Itchem and Yedid Nefesh. 
This is Yonatan's debut in New York City and it is an opportunity to learn
dances first-hand from this Israeli folkdance personality.  The workshop
will be followed by an all-request session for dancing your old favorites.

MARCH 21 @ 8pm -- Annual Remembrance Day for Fred Berk, Father of Israeli
Dance in the U.S., following the Israel Dance Festival.  Special guests
include YONATAN GABAI.

APRIL 4 @ 7pm -- Workshop featuring dances of BENTZI TIRAM
taught by NITZHI POLAT, leader of 4 popular sessions in Tel Aviv/Holon
areas & a teacher at the Dance Leaders' Ulpan.

APRIL 18 @ 8pm -- Yom Haatzmaut Party with live music & special guests.

MAY 9 @ 7 pm - Yom Yerushalayim workshop with DANNY POLLOCK

MAY 30 @ 8pm  - Spring mini-marathon

JUNE 13 @ 8pm  - End of season party with special guests
