Fwd: Klezfest '99!

Putting on my performance hitl (hat) now, I'm forwarding a media release by
the fiddler in my/our kapelye re. an upcoming concert in which we will
appear and...

...featuring a wonderful new band called Klezperanto headed by the
incredibly talented and fantastic Ilene Stahl, the clarinetist of the
Klezmer Conservatory Band.  The other equally competent (!) members are
trombonist Mark Hamilton (KCB), percussionist Grant Smith (KCB),
accordionist Evan Harlan, Brandon Seabrook on banjo and guitar, and Mike
Bullock on bass.  Their klezmer-fusion take is pretty unique; the klezmer
part doesn't get lost when they're playing it, and their takes on other
world musics are convincing.  They're quite a lot of fun!  (I'll stop now,
since I feel like I'm writing a clinical report!)

The concert will be held in Swampscott, MA, a suburb about 30-45 minutes
north of Boston.
