Let me suggest that you contact Yitzchak Kerem, who could advise you on this 
issue or will know whom you should ask on rules of transilteration.   If you 
start off on the right foot now, you will save yourself a lot of time later 
fixing the spellings, etc.   Below is his info.   He is an expert on Sephardic 
Jewry and the publisher of a monthly newsletter dedicated to everything 
Sefardic.   You might want to subscribe to his Sefarad mailing list.  You will 
easily find many the names of the world's experts on Sefardic and Ladino 
culture and history as well a slew of events (past and future) there.   You can 
also look through the Sefarad archives on Shamash's web site (look under 
mailing lists).   There you will find a wealth of information.  But asking him 
directly the name(s) of Ladino transliteration experts may save you a lot of 
time.

Hi, Reyzl.

I am only entering the Ladino and hebrew song titles into the database,
with rare exceptions. If a recording has Yiddish songs, I am not entering
them.

There is no standard orthography for Ladino (aka Judeo-Spanish, aka
Judezmo, Espaniolit, etc., etc.) and also no agreed song title list. So I
know this part of the database will be messy, but I don't have the time,
knowledge or patience at this point to try and crack the issue.
