Mary Had a Little Lamb (again)

New light has been thrown on this matter by Yori Yanover in his Passover, the
Untold Stories on the Jewish Comminucation Network (http://jcn18.com/). He
wrote:

Few people today know that the nursery rhyme "Mary had a little lamb" was
originally sung by Marano Jews, wishing to conceal their seder tunes. In
their substitute for the Chad Gadia there are additional verses such as Mary
had a little bull, Mary had a little slaughterer and Mary had a little angel
of death. It is not known whether they also sang the line about "Mary had a
little god."
