The reason for using Yiddish or Hebrew words is that they convey different
information than their one word translations.  If people are unfamiliar
with the words, then I'd rather they ask than be satisfied with a short
translation that doesn't give a full meaning.

Actually, maybe I'll put a Jewish music vocabulary section on my web site,
but it will probably be a few months before I have the time to do it.  I
have for a long time planned to organize a Yiddish Vocabulary Web Poster
project, with participation by many people with websites, aimed at teaching
Yiddish to children, so this would not be a far fetched idea.  I'll
announce it to this list when it gets off the ground.  This discussion has
given me  a push to move it higher on my priorities list.
