Can anyone provide me with a good list of music to play at Bar Mitzvah's?
I'm interested in:
a) What are the "classics" that people expect to hear.
b) What music from the Klezmer repertoire is suitable.
Also, what would be the best books/tapes to find this repertoire? (such as
from TARA).
I've played Israeli and Klezmer music for wedding ceremonies, but this has
been very tranquil music with the exception of Hava Nagila.
My group includes violin, accordian and guitar. The accordianist can
alternately play hammer dulcimer or recorder. On rare occasions, we are
joined by a clarinetist who can't read music written for C instruments.
Thanks,
Matt Jaffey
