The Chassidic Song Festivals were sponsored beginning in the late 1960s by an
Israeli public relations firm called Solan Ltd. in Tel Aviv. I do not know
their current address, but I imagine they would have all the archived
music/lyrics and anything else relating to the 20 or so years of annual song
festivals. Each year's festival was recorded (by Hed-Arzi), and usually had
an accompanying songbook.
I was extremely honored to have one of my own compositions (Ani Ma-amin)
chosen as one of the 12 winners in the 1976 Chassidic Song Festival -- the
big winner that year was Uzi Chitman's "Adon Olam."
The festivals added a tremendous number of new renditions to the Jewish
liturgical repertoire, and provided a great outlet for Jewish composers
around the world. It's a bit of a shame the festivals are no longer being
held.
