posting for BEAT'ACHON

I WOULD DEEPLY APPRECIATE IT IF YOU WOULD PLEASE POST THE FOLLOWING LISTING
ABOUT BEAT'ACHON, A NEW JEWISH MUSIC GROUP. IF THERE IS ANY PROBLEM, PLEASE
RESPOND TO ME. ALSO, PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW TO SUBSCRIBE TO YOUR BOARD.
THANKS IN ADVANCE!

The best new sound in Jewish music is BEAT'ACHON!

Beat'achon sings Jewish A Cappella, the exciting and original blend of vocal
music and Jewish lyrics that is like nothing else out there. It's "Jew-wopp,"
if you will, but with a decidedly modern sound. And the music hums with such
vibrant rhythms and rich harmonies, you'll never miss the orchestra.

The six members of Beat'achon write and arrange almost all of their music.
Many of their original songs infuse traditional Jewish texts with
contemporary musical sounds: the group's "Ani Ma'amin (I Believe)," the
coming of the Messiah anthem, has a Motown groove and "L'cha Dodi," the
Friday night hymn, swings with a Fifties "street corner" sound. And their
takes on the classic hymns "Adon Olam" and "Dror Yikrah" should sound very
familiar- the melodies are adapted from the classic hits "Under the
Boardwalk" and "Sloop John B."

The fresh, new sound of Jewish A Cappella is rooted in that most classical of
Jewish Music traditions- singing at the Shabbat table. Jewish A Cappella
originated when six boyhood friends who relished singing the Shabbat z'mirot
began creating their own harmonies and then original melodies for Jewish
songs. They formed Beat'achon to bring their own, special brand of Jewish
music to new audiences.

The members of Beat'achon love singing- it's why Beat'achon exists!- and
their enthusiasm resounds at their energetic and engaging live performances.
If listening to Jewish A Cappella is exciting, just imagine seeing the
members of Beat'achon creating their harmonic and percussive sounds live! At
a Beat'achon concert, audience members not only listen but even get into the
act themselves and sing Jewish A Cappella during the audience participation
part of the show. Plus, there is the group's "doo-wopp" style choreography
and the warmth, personality and even humor that, put together, make a
Beat'achon concert something really specialx and enchanting.

Beat'achon has shared the bill with many top Jewish Music acts, such as
Shlomo Carlebach (z"al), Shlock Rock and Dveykus, and is always eager for new
concert opportunities. Meanwhile, sales continue to grow on the group's debut
album, Beat'achon: Jewish A Cappella (1993) and the group is presently hard
at work on a follow up release for Winter '95/'96.

"People are astonished that they are enjoying Beat'achon as much as their
other, non-Jewish Music," said Jordan B. Gorfinkel, the group's manager,
about the group's growing popularity. "I don't find this surprising. You try
Beat'achon, you're hooked. It's that simple!"

And the Beat goes onx!
