The Shape of Klez to Come

Check out Shirim (from Boston) . Klezmer as a startingpoint, free jazz,
King Crimson, Astor Piazola, Kurt Veil as minor influences. Original
compositions, adaptations of historical Yiddish poetry, far reaching
arrangements of tradional material, strongly improvisational with new
vocal/ensemble textures. Band consists of clarinet, trombone,vocals,piano,
tuba and drums. 
Johnny D's on May 3 in Davis Sq. Somerville Ma, Ryles on May 27 Cambridge
Ma, Toronto July 4-7 for the Ashkanaz festival.
